Sometimes transforming your life for the better comes down to changing your mind. Now, I don’t mean being indecisive; I mean by changing your negative mindset for a positive one.
Most of us are conditioned from childhood not to get our hopes up with regard to what we can achieve. My dad used to call it “being realistic”. OK, so when I was 6 years old and wanted to jump off the roof of our house using his golf umbrella as a parachute, he may have had a point!
But the thing is…
As we grow up, out childhood enthusiasm for all things new and untested starts to wane, and we begin to error on the site of caution. Sometimes we become cynical and dismiss new ideas out of hand because they’re not “realistic” or because we may have tried them in the past and they didn’t work.
Times change, and just because something didn’t work in the past doesn’t mean it won’t work now!
If you’ve done your homework and made a plan like we’ve been talking about over the last couple of days, you should have a pretty good idea whether it’s going to work or not. All you have to do is really BELIEVE you can succeed.
Like Henry Ford said: It doesn’t matter if you think you can or think you can’t; either way you’re right.
Once you’ve got your plan sorted out, you can work towards your goal with confidence in the knowledge you’ll be successful.
No matter how confident you are, sometimes it’s hard to stay focused on your goal or think quickly enough to deal with unexpected obstacles that arise.
There is a way to “reprogram” your brain to keep yourself on track.
